How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with Business (Edexcel) — Module 3: Into practice and influences
This parent guide relates the page examples with a practical study routine. The listed resource is labelled Business, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that context, the learning summary and published prompts to decide what effective work should demonstrate.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus side by side. Ask the learner to anticipate the understanding, terminology or method they may need. Scan each sample and spot instruction words, quantities, hints, conditions or less familiar terms. Agree a realistic time window, remove distractions and gather appropriate equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed first attempt so the response reveals firm understanding and uncertainty. A short pause often strengthens recall better than an instant answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline necessary information, break a larger problem into individual steps, create a diagram, arrange support, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their method fits and whether another method could work. When movement stops, give a carefully scaled hint: state again the goal, point towards a relevant example, narrow the choice, then model only the next step. Return ownership directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning highlights mistakes and practises specific subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to identify the first point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a short description of the improvement. For a correct answer, ask for reasoning and one self-directed check. This distinguishes assured understanding from guessing while developing accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small variation by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a comparable question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps returning to terminology, practising a calculation, adding support or improving clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives better information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and capture answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
