Design Thinking KS3
Design Thinking KS3 is a five-mission Year 8 Design & Technology activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Design. Pupils follow the iterative design process (investigate, design, make and evaluate, then repeat), learn the difference between a design brief and a specification, and identify the client and the user and their needs. They research existing products and run a user survey, generate ideas with annotated sketches and mood boards, and communicate designs with isometric and perspective sketches and CAD. They also design responsibly using the 6 Rs, anthropometrics and ergonomics before writing their own brief and annotating a design idea. Knowledge checks are auto-marked on screen, the design tasks are open, and the book includes teacher, parent and pupil notes with high-contrast and large-text SEND-friendly modes.
