Geographical Skills & Fieldwork KS3
Geographical Skills & Fieldwork KS3 is a five-mission activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for KS3 Geography (Year 7). Students learn to use Ordnance Survey (OS) maps — reading symbols, the key and scale and measuring distance — then give and read four- and six-figure grid references (eastings before northings). They interpret contour lines to describe height and relief, measure directions as bearings (clockwise from north, three figures) on the eight-point compass, and place locations using latitude and longitude. They also meet GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and plan a full fieldwork enquiry: forming a question, collecting primary data, sampling, presenting data in graphs and maps, and drawing conclusions. Missions 1–4 are auto-marked on screen with instant feedback; Mission 5 is an open fieldwork-planning task. Print the whole book with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.
