How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with Geography (OCR) — Module 5: Development & resources
This parent guide relates the page examples with a practical study routine. The present resource is labelled Geography, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what secure work should demonstrate.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to anticipate the knowledge, terminology or method they may need. Scan each sample and recognise instruction words, amounts, hints, conditions or new terms. Agree a focused time window, remove interruptions and gather suitable tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an independent opening attempt so the work reveals secure understanding and uncertainty. A reflective pause often strengthens remembering better than an immediate answer.
Make thinking published
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline necessary information, separate a complex problem into smaller steps, sketch a diagram, organise support, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their approach fits and whether another method could work. When progress stops, give a carefully scaled hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a related example, narrow the choice, then model only the next step. Return ownership straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning reveals mistakes and practises correct subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with published answer guidance after genuine effort. Inspect more than the final work: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where related. Ask the learner to find the opening point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a concise description of the correction. For a correct answer, seek justification and one independent check. This separates assured knowledge from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small variation by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps reviewing terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding support or refining clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than immediate repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and note answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
