For the student — how to do this

Work through the teaching and activities, then take the check. Score 70% to earn the badge and unlock the next module — you can retake any time.

For parents and carers

Each module unlocks the next only when your child passes at 70%. A pass meets the threshold for this check. Use discussion and further practice to identify what needs revisiting.

For teachers and tutors

Gated revision sequence. Pass mark 70%; results and per-question review feed the heatmap.

How to check the work

Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS1 Physical Education — Module 5: Healthy & active

This parent guide relates the page examples with a practical study routine. The present resource is labelled Physical Education, Key Stage 1, Year 1, Year 2, E-Learning Module. Use that framework, the learning summary and published prompts to decide what sound work should reveal.

Prepare a focused session

Read the title and learning focus together. Ask the learner to anticipate the ideas, language or technique they may need. Scan each sample and spot action words, amounts, hints, conditions or new terms. Agree a realistic time window, reduce diversions and prepare useful tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed opening attempt so the response reveals sound understanding and gaps. A quiet pause often aids retrieval better than an instant answer.

Make thinking visible

Invite the learner to summarise the task in their own words. They can underline necessary information, divide a extended problem into shorter steps, design a demonstrate, sort evidence, rehearse a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their approach fits and whether another method could work. When progress stops, give a graduated hint: state again the goal, point towards a useful example, limit the choice, then demonstrate only the next step. Return responsibility directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning reveals confusions and practises specific subject language.

Check accuracy and understanding

Compare the attempt with visible answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, evidence, sequence, spelling or presentation where useful. Ask the learner to find the opening point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a concise description of the improvement. For a correct answer, ask for support and one self-directed check. This separates assured ideas from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.

Consolidate and extend

Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by altering a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding evidence or developing clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than instant repetition.

The interactive player, downloadable file and record answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.

Sample questions and answers

Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
