For the student — how to do this

Work through the teaching and activities, then take the check. Score 75% to earn the badge and unlock the next module — you can retake any time.

For parents and carers

Each module unlocks the next only when your child passes at 75%. A pass meets the threshold for this check. Use discussion and further practice to identify what needs revisiting.

For teachers and tutors

Gated revision sequence. Pass mark 75%; results and per-question review feed the heatmap.

How to check the work

Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS2 French — Module 3: School

This parent guide links the page examples with a usable study routine. The listed resource is labelled French, Key Stage 2, Year 3, Year 4, E-Learning Module. Use that context, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what effective work should show.

Prepare a focused session

Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to predict the ideas, vocabulary or method they may need. Scan each sample and recognise instruction words, quantities, clues, conditions or less familiar terms. Agree a realistic time window, clear distractions and prepare suitable tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an unaided initial attempt so the response shows firm understanding and gaps. A quiet pause often supports retrieval better than an immediate answer.

Make thinking shown

Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline necessary information, separate a larger problem into smaller steps, draw a diagram, sort support, rehearse a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their method fits and whether another strategy could work. When work stops, provide a carefully scaled hint: repeat the goal, point towards a related example, narrow the choice, then demonstrate only the next step. Return ownership immediately afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes misconceptions and practises accurate subject language.

Check accuracy and understanding

Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after genuine effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where related. Ask the learner to locate the initial point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a short note of the improvement. For a correct answer, seek support and one unaided check. This differentiates assured ideas from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.

Consolidate and extend

Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small variation by changing a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, practising a calculation, adding support or improving clarity. Recheck that target afterwards in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than immediate repetition.

The interactive player, downloadable file and note answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide supports preparation, discussion and review.

Sample questions and answers

Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
