How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS2 Geography — Module 6: Climate & weather
This parent guide relates the page examples with a structured study routine. The present resource is labelled Geography, Key Stage 2, Year 3, Year 4, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to decide what successful work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus together. Ask the learner to spot the understanding, language or technique they may need. Scan each sample and spot command words, quantities, signals, limits or unfamiliar terms. Agree a focused time window, reduce diversions and collect appropriate materials such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an unaided initial attempt so the response indicates firm understanding and uncertainty. A quiet pause often strengthens recall better than an immediate answer.
Make thinking published
Invite the learner to restate the task in their own words. They can underline key information, separate a extended problem into individual steps, sketch a diagram, organise details, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another plan could work. When progress stops, offer a carefully scaled hint: state again the goal, point towards a relevant example, reduce the choice, then show only the next step. Return control straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning reveals confusions and practises clear subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with published answer guidance after sustained effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to locate the initial point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a brief note of the improvement. For a correct answer, request support and one unaided check. This differentiates confident understanding from guessing while developing accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small adaptation by changing a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps reviewing terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding details or improving clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than immediate repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and note answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
