How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS2 PE — Module 2: The body & warming up
This parent guide links the page examples with a usable study routine. The current resource is labelled Physical Education, Key Stage 2, Year 3, Year 4, E-Learning Module. Use that context, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what successful work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus together. Ask the learner to predict the understanding, terminology or technique they may need. Scan each sample and recognise command words, amounts, clues, conditions or less familiar terms. Agree a focused time window, remove diversions and collect appropriate tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an independent opening attempt so the response shows sound understanding and uncertainty. A quiet pause often strengthens retrieval better than an immediate answer.
Make thinking published
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, break a larger problem into smaller steps, draw a diagram, sort details, rehearse a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another strategy could work. When progress stops, provide a staged hint: repeat the goal, point towards a relevant example, reduce the choice, then model only the next step. Return ownership directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning highlights mistakes and practises accurate subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with published answer guidance after genuine effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to locate the opening point where their reasoning changed path. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a concise description of the change. For a correct answer, seek support and one independent check. This distinguishes secure understanding from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small adaptation by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a comparable question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps reviewing terminology, repeating a calculation, adding details or refining clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than immediate repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and make answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
