How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS2 PSHE — Module 4: Healthy lifestyles
This parent guide relates the page examples with a practical study routine. The current resource is labelled PSHE & Citizenship, Key Stage 2, Year 3, Year 4, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what firm work should show.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus side by side. Ask the learner to predict the knowledge, vocabulary or strategy they may need. Scan each sample and recognise command words, values, hints, conditions or unfamiliar terms. Agree a focused time window, reduce interruptions and prepare appropriate equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed initial attempt so the attempt indicates firm understanding and uncertainty. A reflective pause often aids recall better than an instant answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to summarise the task in their own words. They can underline key information, break a larger problem into individual steps, draw a representation, arrange details, compose a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another strategy could work. When progress stops, provide a carefully scaled hint: repeat the goal, point towards a useful example, limit the choice, then demonstrate only the next step. Return responsibility directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes misconceptions and practises correct subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final attempt: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where useful. Ask the learner to identify the initial point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a short note of the change. For a correct answer, request reasoning and one self-directed check. This differentiates assured knowledge from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by altering a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, practising a calculation, adding details or refining clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and make answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
