How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS2 PSHE — Module 6: Growing & changing
This parent guide connects the page examples with a usable study routine. The present resource is labelled PSHE & Citizenship, Key Stage 2, Year 3, Year 4, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what successful work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to spot the ideas, language or technique they may need. Scan each sample and spot action words, values, hints, limits or less familiar terms. Agree a realistic time window, clear diversions and prepare useful materials such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed opening attempt so the response shows firm understanding and doubt. A brief pause often aids retrieval better than an same-session answer.
Make thinking visible
Invite the learner to summarise the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, break a complex problem into smaller steps, make a show, arrange support, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another strategy could work. When progress stops, provide a staged hint: repeat the goal, point towards a relevant example, reduce the choice, then show only the next step. Return responsibility directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes confusions and practises accurate subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with visible answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to find the opening point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or separate space, followed by a brief account of the correction. For a correct answer, ask for reasoning and one self-directed check. This distinguishes assured ideas from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the main idea, process or fact again. Create one small adaptation by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a comparable question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one precise next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding support or improving clarity. Recheck that target again in the week because spaced review gives better information than same-session repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and record answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
