How to check the work
Use any on-screen review after the quiz to discuss one response and a next step. A saved score or time is not a saved mistake-by-mistake report.

How to study with KS2 PSHE & RSE (Years 3–6) — Gated Series — Module 7: Consolidation Test (timed)
This parent guide connects the page examples with a usable study routine. The current resource is labelled PSHE & Citizenship, Key Stage 2, Year 3, Year 4, Quiz. Use that framework, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what firm work should demonstrate.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to anticipate the knowledge, terminology or plan they may need. Scan each sample and identify command words, amounts, signals, constraints or new terms. Agree a manageable time window, remove diversions and collect appropriate equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed first attempt so the attempt shows firm understanding and gaps. A concise pause often supports remembering better than an instant answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, divide a complex problem into smaller steps, make a representation, arrange details, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another plan could work. When work stops, provide a carefully scaled hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a related example, reduce the choice, then show only the next step. Return ownership directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning highlights misconceptions and practises accurate subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final attempt: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where related. Ask the learner to find the first point where their reasoning changed path. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a concise description of the change. For a correct answer, ask for support and one self-directed check. This differentiates secure knowledge from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small variation by changing a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps returning to terminology, practising a calculation, adding details or improving clarity. Recheck that target again in the week because spaced review gives clearer information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide supports preparation, discussion and review.
