KS3 Biology: Body Systems โ Challenge
KS3 Biology: Body Systems — Challenge is a greater-depth stretch activity book for Key Stage 3 biology, mapped to the DfE National Curriculum. Five demanding challenges push confident learners through enzymes and the gut including where amylase is made, stomach acid, optimum conditions and a food-energy calculation; muscles, joints and movement including the triceps, antagonistic pairs, joint types, bone marrow, tendons, ligaments and cartilage; gas exchange and adaptations including breathing out, diffusion, thin walls, the effect of tar and an air-volume calculation; and circulation, diet and lifestyle including the ventricles, arterial pressure, carbon monoxide, vitamins, obesity and a heart-rate calculation. Challenges 1–4 hold twenty-four auto-marked questions with real calculations; Challenge 5 is an open reasoning and explanation task with a full worked answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.
