KS3 Biology: Cells — Challenge is a greater-depth stretch activity book for Key Stage 3 cell biology, mapped to the DfE National Curriculum. Five demanding challenges push confident learners through comparing animal, plant and bacterial cells including plasmids and the partially permeable membrane, rearranging the magnification formula and converting millimetres to micrometres, analysing how specialised cells (red blood, root hair, palisade, sperm, muscle and nerve cells) are adapted to their functions, and reasoning about diffusion, concentration gradients, unicellular organisms and the levels of organisation.
