How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS3 French — Module 4: School
This parent guide relates the page examples with a usable study routine. The current resource is labelled French, Key Stage 3, Year 7, Year 8, E-Learning Module. Use that framework, the learning summary and published prompts to decide what successful work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to predict the ideas, language or method they may need. Scan each sample and identify command words, quantities, signals, conditions or unfamiliar terms. Agree a realistic time window, remove diversions and prepare useful materials such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an independent initial attempt so the attempt shows sound understanding and gaps. A quiet pause often supports remembering better than an same-session answer.
Make thinking published
Invite the learner to restate the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, break a complex problem into smaller steps, draw a model, organise details, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another method could work. When work stops, give a graduated hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a relevant example, limit the choice, then model only the next step. Return responsibility immediately afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes mistakes and practises accurate subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with published answer guidance after genuine effort. Inspect more than the final attempt: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to find the initial point where their reasoning changed path. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a short account of the change. For a correct answer, seek reasoning and one independent check. This differentiates confident ideas from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small adaptation by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, practising a calculation, adding details or refining clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives clearer information than same-session repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide supports preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
