How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS3 French — Module 6: Food & drink
This parent guide links the page examples with a practical study routine. The listed resource is labelled French, Key Stage 3, Year 7, Year 8, E-Learning Module. Use that context, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what effective work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to spot the ideas, language or technique they may need. Scan each sample and spot command words, amounts, hints, conditions or new terms. Agree a manageable time window, clear distractions and gather appropriate materials such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed opening attempt so the attempt reveals secure understanding and gaps. A brief pause often supports recall better than an instant answer.
Make thinking published
Invite the learner to restate the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, separate a extended problem into smaller steps, draw a show, arrange details, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another strategy could work. When work stops, offer a graduated hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a related example, reduce the choice, then show only the next step. Return control directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning highlights misconceptions and practises accurate subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with published answer guidance after sustained effort. Inspect more than the final attempt: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where related. Ask the learner to identify the opening point where their reasoning changed path. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a brief account of the change. For a correct answer, ask for justification and one self-directed check. This differentiates secure ideas from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps returning to terminology, practising a calculation, adding details or developing clarity. Recheck that target afterwards in the week because spaced review gives better information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide supports preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
