How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with KS3 PSHE & RSE — Module 6: Growing up & changes
This parent guide relates the page examples with a structured study routine. The current resource is labelled PSHE & Citizenship, Key Stage 3, Year 7, Year 8, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what secure work should show.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus side by side. Ask the learner to predict the knowledge, vocabulary or plan they may need. Scan each sample and spot command words, amounts, signals, constraints or less familiar terms. Agree a focused time window, reduce distractions and collect appropriate equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an independent initial attempt so the attempt reveals secure understanding and gaps. A brief pause often strengthens recall better than an same-session answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline key information, break a larger problem into individual steps, draw a model, sort support, compose a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another plan could work. When progress stops, give a staged hint: state again the goal, point towards a useful example, limit the choice, then model only the next step. Return ownership directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning reveals mistakes and practises correct subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final attempt: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where useful. Ask the learner to find the initial point where their reasoning changed path. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a brief description of the correction. For a correct answer, request justification and one independent check. This separates secure knowledge from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by altering a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a comparable question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding support or improving clarity. Recheck that target again in the week because spaced review gives clearer information than same-session repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and make answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
