Properties & Changes of Materials KS2
Properties & Changes of Materials KS2 is a five-mission Year 5 science activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum. Children compare and group everyday materials by hardness, solubility, transparency, electrical and thermal conductivity, magnetism and flexibility; investigate how soluble solids dissolve to form a solution and are recovered by evaporation; decide how mixtures can be separated by filtering, sieving and evaporating; and sort everyday changes into reversible ones (melting, freezing, dissolving) and irreversible ones (burning, rusting, mixing vinegar with bicarbonate of soda, baking a cake) that make a new material. Every question is auto-marked on screen, or the whole book can be printed with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.
