How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with Mathematics (Eduqas) — Module 5: Geometry & measures
This parent guide relates the page examples with a usable study routine. The present resource is labelled Mathematics, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what successful work should demonstrate.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus together. Ask the learner to predict the ideas, language or technique they may need. Scan each sample and identify action words, values, clues, limits or unfamiliar terms. Agree a focused time window, reduce diversions and gather appropriate equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed initial attempt so the work indicates firm understanding and uncertainty. A quiet pause often aids recall better than an instant answer.
Make thinking visible
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, separate a extended problem into smaller steps, create a diagram, arrange support, rehearse a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another plan could work. When work stops, give a staged hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a useful example, limit the choice, then show only the next step. Return control immediately afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes misconceptions and practises clear subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with visible answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final work: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where useful. Ask the learner to find the initial point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a concise description of the correction. For a correct answer, seek justification and one self-directed check. This differentiates confident ideas from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the main idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by changing a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, practising a calculation, adding support or improving clarity. Recheck that target again in the week because spaced review gives better information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and make answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
