PE Words: Flashcards
The vocabulary children need to talk about movement and games at KS1. Each card pairs a term with a clear definition and an everyday example. Builds the language of PE so children can describe what they’re doing โ a real Y2 NC expectation (“evaluating performance”).
Running, jumping, hopping, skipping, galloping.
Standing on one foot. Tree pose. Walking a line.
Throwing, catching, kicking, hitting a ball.
Eyes on one spot, arms out for help.
Dodging a tag. Spinning around safely.
Skipping with a rope. Bouncing & catching.
Wakes muscles up. Helps stop injury. 3 minutes is plenty.
Get the ball forward. Find space. Aim well.
Stay between them and the goal.
"Should I attack or defend now?" That's tactics.
Follow the rules. Say "well done" when you lose.
Real PE! Tells a story with your body.
