How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with Physics (Eduqas) — Module 6: Waves & magnetism
This parent guide connects the page examples with a practical study routine. The present resource is labelled Physics, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that framework, the learning summary and published prompts to decide what successful work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus side by side. Ask the learner to spot the knowledge, terminology or method they may need. Scan each sample and spot instruction words, values, signals, conditions or less familiar terms. Agree a focused time window, clear interruptions and prepare useful tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an unaided opening attempt so the response indicates secure understanding and gaps. A quiet pause often aids retrieval better than an instant answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, divide a larger problem into shorter steps, draw a show, sort details, compose a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another strategy could work. When work stops, give a staged hint: repeat the goal, point towards a useful example, reduce the choice, then show only the next step. Return ownership straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning reveals mistakes and practises clear subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where useful. Ask the learner to find the opening point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a brief description of the correction. For a correct answer, request reasoning and one unaided check. This separates assured knowledge from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small variation by altering a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, practising a calculation, adding details or improving clarity. Recheck that target afterwards in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
