Reading & Analysis Detective KS3 is a five-mission Year 7 English activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for KS3 reading. Working from two short original texts — one fiction extract and one non-fiction information text — pupils retrieve explicit information, make inferences and deductions, identify language techniques (simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration and onomatopoeia), explain the effect of word choices, and work out the writer’s purpose and audience before comparing fiction with non-fiction. The retrieval and technique questions are auto-marked on screen; the analysis and home-reading missions are open PEE-style tasks with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.
