A fast grammar, punctuation and spelling duel for Key Stage 2. Battle through 20 multiple-choice questions covering word classes, verb tenses, punctuation (commas, apostrophes, colons, semicolons, brackets and speech), sentence types and clauses, spelling rules, homophones, prefixes and suffixes — all mapped to the KS2 SPaG curriculum and rising in difficulty. Every correct answer strikes a grammar gremlin and builds your combo. A warm-up mode lets children drill a single skill. This covers the spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) your child meets across Key Stage 2 and in the Year 6 SATs: word classes, tenses, apostrophes, commas, sentence types, spelling rules and homophones. Short multiple-choice rounds build confident recognition. The end screen highlights which skills to practise next.

For teachers and tutors

KS2 SPaG practice (grammar, punctuation and spelling). The Showdown serves 20 curriculum-mapped multiple-choice questions across word classes, tenses, punctuation, sentences and clauses, spelling and grammar terms, rising through three difficulty tiers, with answer positions randomised each play. Warm-up isolates a single strand. Each attempt reports score, accuracy, best combo and a per-strand error breakdown to the tracker; scoring 16+ marks the resource complete and awards the 35-point Grammar Guardian badge.

How to check the work

Use the tracker to see score out of 20, accuracy and which SPaG strands were missed. Scoring 16 or more in the Showdown earns the Grammar Guardian badge. The per-strand breakdown shows exactly which skills to revisit.
