GCSE Macbeth Revision Workbook is a five-mission activity book built around three real, public-domain extracts from Shakespeare’s Macbeth printed on the page for close reading: the dagger soliloquy (“Is this a dagger which I see before me”, Act 2, Scene 1), Lady Macbeth’s sleepwalking speech (“Out, damned spot”, Act 5, Scene 1) and the nihilistic “Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow” speech (Act 5, Scene 5). It is board-neutral across AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC/Eduqas and mapped to the DfE subject content and the Assessment Objectives (AO1 response, AO2 language, form and structure, AO3 context). For each extract, students identify the speaker, the act and scene, the writer’s method — soliloquy, metaphor and repetition — and the theme, from ambition and guilt to mortality. Close-reading questions are auto-marked on screen, while open close-analysis and essay-planning missions build the extended writing examiners reward, with Jacobean context on King James I, the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 and the tragic hero and his hamartia. The whole book can be printed with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and student notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.
