A three-page introduction to the two largest religions in the UK by population (2021 Census). Designed as a neutral, factual KS1 worksheet that teaches ABOUT both religions rather than promoting any.

Page 1 introduces Christianity: what Christians believe, holy book, place of worship, main festivals. Page 2 does the same for Islam: beliefs, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Qur’an, the mosque, Eid celebrations. Page 3 is a side-by-side comparison โ€” finding things in common (one God, important book, place of worship, festivals) alongside the differences.

The worksheet emphasises that within EACH religion, people do things differently โ€” not all Christians celebrate Christmas the same way, not all Muslims observe Ramadan identically. Includes answer key with adult notes on common KS1 misconceptions.

An interactive sorting game where the child sees a clue โ€” a holy book, a place of worship, a festival, a key belief โ€” and decides whether it belongs to Christianity, Islam, or BOTH religions. The “both” option is important because many things ARE shared: belief in one God, the importance of prayer, holy books, places of worship, festivals.

Wrong answers give an explanation. The game gently builds the understanding that religions are different in some ways and similar in others โ€” the heart of KS1 RE.

A 7-slide friendly introduction to KS1 RE. Slide 1 explains what religions are and that lots of people in the UK have different beliefs (or none) โ€” and that’s OK. Slides 2-3 introduce Christianity. Slides 4-5 introduce Islam. Slide 6 looks at the things in common. Slide 7 is about respect โ€” friends can believe different things.

The pack does NOT depict the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). For Christianity we use neutral symbols and descriptions. Designed to be read with a grown-up who can answer questions.

A ten-question quiz on the KS1 RE content covered in this pack. Five questions on Christianity, five on Islam, with a final question testing whether the child can spot what’s shared between them.

Best taken after the worksheet and e-learning. Questions are written neutrally โ€” the quiz tests UNDERSTANDING of what believers believe, not whether the child personally agrees.

The vocabulary children need to discuss the two religions at KS1. Each card pairs a key term with a clear, neutral, age-appropriate definition. The deck covers shared concepts (God, prayer, holy book, festival, place of worship) alongside specific terms from each religion.

RE Explorer: 5-Page Investigation Book is a five-investigation Years 1โ€“2 Religious Education activity book exploring Christianity and Islam side by side: places of worship (church and mosque), festivals (Christmas, Easter, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha), special books (the Bible and the Qur’an) and symbols (the cross and the star and crescent moon). The final investigations turn to reflection, encouraging children to think about belonging and to show respect for beliefs different from their own. Most questions are auto-marked on screen, or the whole book can be printed with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.

A short guide for parents and carers. UK families come in every possible shape when it comes to religion โ€” practicing, lapsed, mixed-faith, secular, agnostic, undecided. This guide gives practical advice that works regardless of where your family sits, and addresses the most common parent worries about KS1 RE.

A planning companion for the KS1 RE unit covering Christianity and Islam. Maps the legal RE framework (Education Act 1996, RE Council 2013), gives detailed sensitivity guidance for teaching religion in a mixed classroom, lists the most common pupil misconceptions for both traditions, and lays out a 6-lesson scheme.

Particularly important is the section on visual representation of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which this pack strictly avoids โ€” and which teachers should be aware of in their wider classroom material.
