Evaluating Design KS3 is a five-mission Year 9 Design & Technology activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for the Evaluate strand. Pupils test a product against its specification, decide whether it is fit for purpose, and gather user feedback through surveys and testing. They identify strengths and weaknesses, compare with existing products, analyse the work of past and present designers, and weigh up environmental and social impact using the 6 Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle, rethink, refuse, repair). They finish by suggesting improvements and using real user feedback to plan a redesign, all while telling objective evidence from subjective opinion. Knowledge checks are auto-marked on screen, the evaluation tasks are open, and the book includes teacher, parent and pupil notes with high-contrast and large-text SEND-friendly modes.
