Local History Detective KS1 is a five-mission history activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for KS1 local history. Children learn that local history is the story of the place where they live, notice how buildings, transport and shops change over time, and use sources such as old photographs, maps, museums and older people (oral history) to find out about the past. They practise chronology words — past, present, long ago, older and newer — and explore significant local places such as a church, castle, statue or park. Knowledge questions are auto-marked on screen, or the whole book can be printed with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.
