Each module unlocks the next only when your child passes at 80%. A pass meets the threshold for this check. Use discussion and further practice to identify what needs revisiting.

For teachers and tutors

Gated revision sequence. Pass mark 80%; results and per-question review feed the heatmap.

How to check the work

Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with Business (Edexcel) — Module 4: Marketing decisions

This parent guide relates the page examples with a structured study routine. The current resource is labelled Business, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that context, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what effective work should reveal.

Prepare a focused session

Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to recognise the knowledge, language or technique they may need. Scan each sample and recognise instruction words, amounts, clues, conditions or less familiar terms. Agree a manageable time window, reduce distractions and gather appropriate tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an unaided initial attempt so the work indicates firm understanding and doubt. A reflective pause often aids recall better than an same-session answer.

Make thinking published

Invite the learner to restate the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, break a complex problem into shorter steps, sketch a representation, arrange evidence, compose a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their method fits and whether another plan could work. When progress stops, offer a graduated hint: repeat the goal, point towards a related example, narrow the choice, then model only the next step. Return responsibility straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning reveals confusions and practises precise subject language.

Check accuracy and understanding

Compare the attempt with published answer guidance after genuine effort. Inspect more than the final work: review the method, explanation, units, evidence, sequence, spelling or presentation where related. Ask the learner to locate the initial point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a brief account of the change. For a correct answer, ask for reasoning and one unaided check. This distinguishes assured knowledge from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.

Consolidate and extend

Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the main idea, process or fact again. Create one small adaptation by altering a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a comparable question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one precise next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, practising a calculation, adding evidence or developing clarity. Recheck that target afterwards in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than same-session repetition.

The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.

Sample questions and answers

Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
