How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with GCSE German — Module 5: Holidays & travel
This parent guide connects the page examples with a usable study routine. The present resource is labelled German, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that framework, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what effective work should demonstrate.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus together. Ask the learner to anticipate the understanding, language or technique they may need. Scan each sample and recognise instruction words, quantities, clues, conditions or unfamiliar terms. Agree a realistic time window, reduce diversions and gather suitable materials such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed first attempt so the response reveals sound understanding and gaps. A reflective pause often supports remembering better than an same-session answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to restate the task in their own words. They can underline key information, separate a larger problem into individual steps, sketch a diagram, organise support, rehearse a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their method fits and whether another plan could work. When work stops, offer a staged hint: repeat the goal, point towards a related example, reduce the choice, then demonstrate only the next step. Return control straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning highlights confusions and practises accurate subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where related. Ask the learner to locate the first point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a short note of the correction. For a correct answer, ask for support and one self-directed check. This differentiates assured understanding from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small adaptation by changing a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a comparable question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one precise next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding support or refining clarity. Recheck that target afterwards in the week because spaced review gives clearer information than same-session repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and capture answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide supports preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
