How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with German — Module 4: Free time & hobbies
This parent guide links the page examples with a practical study routine. The current resource is labelled German, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what successful work should show.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to identify the understanding, terminology or plan they may need. Scan each sample and identify action words, amounts, clues, conditions or unfamiliar terms. Agree a realistic time window, clear interruptions and prepare useful tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed initial attempt so the response indicates firm understanding and gaps. A short pause often strengthens recall better than an immediate answer.
Make thinking visible
Invite the learner to restate the task in their own words. They can underline necessary information, break a larger problem into smaller steps, create a representation, arrange evidence, rehearse a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their method fits and whether another plan could work. When progress stops, offer a staged hint: repeat the goal, point towards a relevant example, narrow the choice, then model only the next step. Return control straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes mistakes and practises accurate subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with visible answer guidance after sustained effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, evidence, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to locate the initial point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a short note of the correction. For a correct answer, request reasoning and one self-directed check. This differentiates secure understanding from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by altering a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one precise next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding evidence or refining clarity. Recheck that target afterwards in the week because spaced review gives clearer information than immediate repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and capture answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
