How to check the work
Ask the learner to show or explain one idea, then try a fresh example with suitable support. Note any prompts needed; retelling alone does not show secure understanding.

How to study with German — Module 5: Holidays & travel
This parent guide connects the page examples with a usable study routine. The current resource is labelled German, GCSE, Year 10, Year 11, E-Learning Module. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what secure work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus side by side. Ask the learner to recognise the ideas, language or method they may need. Scan each sample and recognise command words, values, clues, constraints or less familiar terms. Agree a focused time window, clear interruptions and collect appropriate materials such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed initial attempt so the work indicates secure understanding and uncertainty. A short pause often aids recall better than an same-session answer.
Make thinking visible
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline necessary information, break a extended problem into smaller steps, sketch a representation, organise evidence, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their method fits and whether another method could work. When progress stops, give a graduated hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a useful example, reduce the choice, then demonstrate only the next step. Return ownership directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning reveals confusions and practises correct subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with visible answer guidance after genuine effort. Inspect more than the final work: review the method, explanation, units, evidence, sequence, spelling or presentation where useful. Ask the learner to identify the initial point where their reasoning changed course. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a short description of the change. For a correct answer, request support and one self-directed check. This distinguishes secure ideas from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the main idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by altering a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps returning to terminology, repeating a calculation, adding evidence or developing clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than same-session repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and make answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.
Sample questions and answers
Try five questions from this exact activity. Review each authored answer and explanation, then note which ideas need another look. Compare the options and explain why the answer fits. Say the reasoning aloud or write a short justification before opening the interactive player to complete the activity and save progress.
