KS1 Mathematics: Fractions — Challenge is a stretching activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Year 2, designed for learners ready to go beyond the basics. Challenges 1-4 hold around sixteen auto-marked questions on fractions of larger quantities and sets, thirds and quarters equivalence reasoning, counting in fractions beyond one whole, and spotting incorrect fraction reasoning. Challenge 5 is an open, greater-depth reasoning task connecting equal size (not equal shape), equivalence, and a real-life recipe problem. A full worked answer key, including model reasoning for the open challenge, is included alongside teacher, parent and pupil guidance.
