KS1 Mathematics: Geometry — Properties of Shape — Challenge is a greater-depth activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Year 2 and beyond. Challenges 1-4 hold sixteen auto-marked questions stretching learners with vertical line symmetry, comparing properties across 2-D and 3-D shape families, identifying 2-D shapes on the surface of prisms, pyramids and curved shapes, and advanced properties of prisms, pyramids and curved solids. Challenge 5 is an open reasoning task asking learners to explain why every square is a rectangle, compare a cube and a cuboid, and design their own symmetrical shape. A full worked answer key, including model reasoning for the open challenge, is included alongside teacher, parent and pupil guidance.
