KS1 Mathematics: Measurement — Challenge is a stretching activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Year 2, written for learners ready to go beyond the basics. Challenges 1-4 hold sixteen auto-marked questions covering comparing standard units that do not match, telling the time to five minutes and working out time intervals, multi-step money problems including coin combinations and change, and two-step measures word problems. Challenge 5 is an open reasoning and extension task, asking learners to explain their thinking, test a mathematical claim, and design and solve their own word problem. A full worked answer key, including model answers and marking notes for the open task, is included alongside teacher, parent and pupil guidance.

Challenges 1-4 hold sixteen auto-marked questions requiring unit conversion (cm/m, g/kg, ml/litres), telling the time to five minutes, time intervals, and multi-step money and measures word problems. Challenge 5 is an open, non-auto-marked reasoning and extension task: explaining a mental method, testing a mathematical claim, and pupil-authored two-step word problem design. Useful for greater-depth provision, extension work or a maths challenge day.
Challenges 1-4 are checked together with the "Check my answers" button, which marks each response and gives instant feedback. Challenge 5 is an open reasoning and design task that is not auto-marked — check it against the model answers and marking notes on the answer sheet.
