This book takes number and place value slowly, one step at a time, with smaller numbers and a helpful tip on every page. Practise counting to 20, one more and one less, tens and ones, comparing numbers, and reading and writing numbers. Use objects like counters or your fingers if they help. Answer on screen and I’ll check it for you, or print the book and work through it on paper.

This is a gentle, self-marking KS1 number and place value book for learners who need extra support. It uses smaller number ranges than our Quick Burst book and gives an extra scaffolding tip on every step, covering counting to 20, one more and one less, tens and ones to 50, and comparing numbers to 50. It is designed to take about 20 minutes, but can easily be split across a few short sessions.

A scaffolded support book for DfE KS1 number and place value, aimed at learners who need smaller ranges and extra modelling. Covers counting to 20 in twos and fives (Year 1), one more and one less within 20, place value of tens and ones in numbers to 50, comparing numbers to 50, and reading/writing numbers to 20 in numerals and words. Every step carries an additional scaffolding tip beyond the standard hint, making it suitable for pre-teaching, intervention groups or SEND support.

Every step is checked together with the "Check my answers" button, which marks each response and gives instant feedback. All answers are single numbers or a short word/symbol choice — compare against the answer sheet for the full worked results.
