Spelling Detective KS2 is a five-mission Year 4 English activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Year 3/4 spelling (transcription). Children add prefixes and suffixes to build new words, choose the correct homophone from there/their/they’re, here/hear and to/too/two, and master tricky patterns including the /i/ sound spelt y, the /k/ sound spelt ch, the possessive apostrophe with plurals and statutory spelling words. Every question is auto-marked on screen, or the whole book can be printed with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.

This is a Year 4 spelling activity book covering Year 3/4 patterns. Sit alongside your child if you can, and encourage them to say each word aloud, spot the prefix, suffix or tricky pattern, and use look-cover-write-check for any word they find hard.
