Word Reading Detective KS2 is a five-mission Year 3 English activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for word reading (Year 3/4). Children identify root words, apply prefixes and suffixes, count syllables to break down longer words, and decode unfamiliar words by splitting them into chunks and using context to find their meaning. This is a Year 3 word-reading activity book. Sit alongside your child if you can, and encourage them to say each word aloud, clap the syllables, and cover a prefix or suffix so they can spot the root word inside.
