KS1 English: Handwriting — Challenge is a greater-depth stretch activity book for Key Stage 1 handwriting, mapped to the DfE National Curriculum. Five demanding challenges push confident learners through sorting letters across all four families — long ladder, curly caterpillar, one-armed robot and zig-zag monster — untangling harder tricky twin letters including n/u, m/w and a flipped number, spotting perfectly punctuated sentences with a capital letter and full stop, and learning proper handwriting vocabulary such as ascender, descender and baseline. Challenges 1–4 hold auto-marked stretch questions; Challenge 5 is an open task where the child writes and checks their own sentence against a full handwriting checklist, with a complete worked answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.
