How to check the work
Use any on-screen review after the quiz to discuss one response and a next step. A saved score or time is not a saved mistake-by-mistake report.

How to study with KS3 PSHE & RSE (Years 7-9) — Gated Series — Module 7: Consolidation Test (timed)
This parent guide relates the page examples with a usable study routine. The present resource is labelled PSHE & Citizenship, Key Stage 3, Year 7, Year 8, Quiz. Use that framework, the learning summary and published prompts to decide what successful work should show.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus jointly. Ask the learner to predict the understanding, vocabulary or plan they may need. Scan each sample and identify instruction words, amounts, clues, constraints or unfamiliar terms. Agree a manageable time window, reduce diversions and collect suitable tools such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed initial attempt so the response reveals secure understanding and gaps. A brief pause often strengthens recall better than an same-session answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline key information, divide a extended problem into individual steps, draw a demonstrate, organise evidence, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their approach fits and whether another plan could work. When work stops, provide a graduated hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a relevant example, reduce the choice, then demonstrate only the next step. Return control straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes mistakes and practises clear subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after sustained effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, evidence, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to identify the initial point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a brief description of the correction. For a correct answer, ask for reasoning and one self-directed check. This differentiates assured understanding from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small alternative by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps revisiting terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding evidence or refining clarity. Recheck that target afterwards in the week because spaced review gives better information than same-session repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
