KS1 Science: Animals, Including Humans — Challenge
Greater-depth KS1 science challenge: compare animal structures, classify tricky animals, and reason about diets, senses and needs. Auto-marked plus open task.
KS1 Science: Animals, Including Humans — Challenge is a greater-depth activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Years 1 and 2, designed to stretch learners beyond straightforward recall. Challenges 1-4 hold sixteen auto-marked reasoning questions that compare animal structures across groups, classify less-familiar animals from descriptive clues, apply diet knowledge to trickier examples, and reason about senses, basic needs and growth into adults. Challenge 5 is an open extension task, comparing structures across two animal groups, classifying an unfamiliar animal, and linking diet to habitat, with model answers and marking notes provided. With around 30 minutes of content and a full answer key, it is ideal for confident learners ready to go beyond the basics.
