KS1 Science: Living Things and Their Habitats — Challenge is a stretching activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Year 2. Challenges 1-4 hold sixteen auto-marked questions that go beyond the basics: tricky living/dead/never-alive cases, comparing what different habitats provide, reasoning like a micro-habitat detective, and following multi-link food chains while exploring how living things depend on each other. Challenge 5 is an open, greater-depth task asking learners to compare real habitats, build and explain their own food chain, and reason about interdependence in their own words. A full worked answer key, including model answers and marking notes for the open challenge, is included alongside teacher, parent and pupil guidance.
