Five fast rounds of sentence-detective work! Spot whether a group of words is a real sentence, pick the best word for a picture, put jumbled words back in order, then finish sentences sensibly. Answer on screen and I'll check it for you, or print the book and go as fast as you can!

This is a quick-burst KS1 composition practice (Year 1) — about ten minutes of fast recall covering sentence spotting, word choice and word order. It works well as a short warm-up before writing time.

A five-round quick-fire activity book drilling DfE KS1 composition: distinguishing a proper sentence from a jumble of words, choosing the most effective word for a picture, restoring the correct word order in a jumbled sentence, and selecting a sensible sentence ending. All five rounds are auto-marked. Ideal as a warm-up or five-minute writing starter.

All five rounds are checked with the "Check my answers" button, which marks every response and gives feedback.
