How to check the work
Use any on-screen review after the quiz to discuss one response and a next step. A saved score or time is not a saved mistake-by-mistake report.

How to study with KS2 PE (Years 3-6) — Gated Series — Module 7: Consolidation Test (timed)
This parent guide connects the page examples with a practical study routine. The listed resource is labelled Physical Education, Key Stage 2, Year 3, Year 4, Quiz. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to clarify what sound work should show.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus side by side. Ask the learner to spot the understanding, vocabulary or strategy they may need. Scan each sample and spot instruction words, values, signals, conditions or new terms. Agree a realistic time window, remove interruptions and gather useful equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed opening attempt so the response shows sound understanding and doubt. A reflective pause often supports recall better than an instant answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to restate the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, break a extended problem into smaller steps, sketch a diagram, arrange details, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their approach fits and whether another strategy could work. When movement stops, offer a staged hint: state again the goal, point towards a relevant example, narrow the choice, then show only the next step. Return ownership straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes misconceptions and practises clear subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, details, sequence, spelling or presentation where relevant. Ask the learner to locate the opening point where their reasoning changed path. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a short account of the change. For a correct answer, ask for reasoning and one self-directed check. This distinguishes confident understanding from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small variation by changing a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one clear next step, perhaps returning to terminology, repeating a calculation, adding details or refining clarity. Recheck that target again in the week because spaced review gives better information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide supports preparation, discussion and review.
