How to check the work
Use any on-screen review after the quiz to discuss one response and a next step. A saved score or time is not a saved mistake-by-mistake report.

How to study with KS1 PSHE — KS1 PSHE & Relationships (Years 1-2) — Gated Series — Module 7: Consolidation Test (timed)
This parent guide links the page examples with a practical study routine. The present resource is labelled PSHE & Citizenship, Key Stage 1, Year 1, Year 2, Quiz. Use that setting, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what effective work should show.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus together. Ask the learner to spot the ideas, terminology or method they may need. Scan each sample and spot command words, values, signals, conditions or less familiar terms. Agree a focused time window, reduce distractions and gather suitable equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an unaided opening attempt so the work indicates secure understanding and uncertainty. A quiet pause often strengthens recall better than an instant answer.
Make thinking shown
Invite the learner to describe the task in their own words. They can underline essential information, break a larger problem into shorter steps, sketch a show, organise support, practise a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another method could work. When progress stops, offer a carefully scaled hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a related example, narrow the choice, then show only the next step. Return ownership directly afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes mistakes and practises correct subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with shown answer guidance after honest effort. Inspect more than the final work: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where related. Ask the learner to identify the opening point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or new space, followed by a concise note of the correction. For a correct answer, seek reasoning and one unaided check. This distinguishes confident ideas from guessing while building accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the central idea, process or fact again. Create one small adaptation by changing a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a similar question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps returning to terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding support or developing clarity. Recheck that target again in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than instant repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide strengthens preparation, discussion and review.
