KS1 Mathematics: Geometry — Position and Direction — Challenge is a stretching activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for Year 2 greater depth. Challenges 1-4 hold sixteen auto-marked questions that count right angles within turns, combine more than one clockwise or anti-clockwise turn, reason about harder position and route problems, and spot the rule in trickier repeating patterns. Challenge 5 is an open extension task: finding two different ways to reach the same facing direction, designing a treasure-hunt route, and investigating whether a bigger-sounding turn always ends up facing further from the start. A full worked answer key, including model answers and marking notes for the open challenge, is included alongside teacher, parent and pupil guidance.
