Story Explorer Activity Book is a five-chapter Year 1 English activity book mapped to the DfE National Curriculum for reading comprehension. Children read one short original story and then identify the characters and setting, find the key events, work out the meaning of tricky words in context, make simple predictions and inferences, and put the events in order. Every question is auto-marked on screen, or the whole book can be printed with a full answer key. Includes teacher, parent and pupil notes and is fully SEND-friendly with high-contrast and large-text modes.

This is a Year 1 reading comprehension activity book built around one short story. Read the passage aloud together first, then encourage your child to look back at the words to find each answer rather than guessing from memory. Pausing to predict what happens next is a great habit to build.

A five-chapter Year 1 activity book covering DfE reading comprehension: characters and setting, retrieval of key events, vocabulary in context, simple prediction and inference, and sequencing, all drawn from one short passage. Chapters 1–4 are auto-marked; Chapter 5 is an open home reading task. Suitable for guided or independent use.
