This parent guide links the page examples with a structured study routine. The present resource is labelled Physical Education, Key Stage 1, Year 1, Year 2, E-Learning Module. Use that framework, the learning summary and published prompts to agree what successful work should reveal.
Prepare a focused session
Read the title and learning focus together. Ask the learner to recognise the knowledge, terminology or method they may need. Scan each sample and recognise command words, values, signals, conditions or less familiar terms. Agree a manageable time window, reduce diversions and collect suitable equipment such as paper, pencil, ruler, coloured pens, calculator, headphones or a device. Encourage an self-directed first attempt so the response reveals secure understanding and gaps. A reflective pause often aids remembering better than an immediate answer.
Make thinking visible
Invite the learner to summarise the task in their own words. They can underline key information, separate a complex problem into individual steps, sketch a representation, sort support, compose a sentence or describe a planned method. Ask why their route fits and whether another method could work. When work stops, provide a graduated hint: rephrase the goal, point towards a useful example, limit the choice, then model only the next step. Return responsibility straight afterwards. Spoken reasoning exposes mistakes and practises specific subject language.
Check accuracy and understanding
Compare the attempt with visible answer guidance after sustained effort. Inspect more than the final response: review the method, explanation, units, support, sequence, spelling or presentation where useful. Ask the learner to find the first point where their reasoning changed direction. Complete corrections actively in a different colour or fresh space, followed by a concise description of the improvement. For a correct answer, seek justification and one self-directed check. This separates confident knowledge from guessing while strengthening accuracy, reflection and careful working habits.
Consolidate and extend
Finish with retrieval from memory. Cover the example and ask for the core idea, process or fact again. Create one small variation by adjusting a value, condition, example, viewpoint or level of support while keeping the learning focus. Invite the learner to write a related question and supply checking guidance. Record one success and one specific next step, perhaps reviewing terminology, rehearsing a calculation, adding support or developing clarity. Recheck that target later in the week because spaced review gives stronger information than immediate repetition.
The interactive player, downloadable file and complete answer material retain their existing access controls. The guide aids preparation, discussion and review.
